Cute shoes and nice arch. Just incredibly tight and I for sure have a medium width. Unless you have been measured and know you are narrow I would stay clear.

These shoes were stiff and narrow even though I ordered the wide. I have bunions and other foot problems so I always add superfeet orthotics for arch support.
Mari O –
Not as “wide”. But just like any shoe, need to break it. Very comfortable and true to size.

This caused SO much pain. They felt ok when I tried them on inside, but when I got on the court, I couldn’t continue playing.

I have narrow feet and ASICS is my go to brand because their regular width runs narrow. This style fit perfect, right length with my orthotics, great support and cushioning (even without the insert removed for my orthotics). And compared to other Asics it fit more snugly in the heel which I needed.

I got my pair in the mail today and I would say heed other reviews about sizing because these suckers run INCREDIBLY tight. I am typically a size 9 for sneakers/tennis shoes and never have really needed to adjust my size even when I see people review about adjusting a half-size or so. I was previously wearing the Gel Resolution 6s as they have lasted me a good 3+ years from my college tennis days (the durability of Asics are top of the market), but I am in the market for a new pair of shoes. Upon arrival, I could barely get my foot into the shoe! The fit is uncomfortably tight in the toe box area including the sides and the top of the foot. My rear foot even feels a bit constricted, but not as much as the toebox. To note, I do have bunions as well, but my feet fit comfortably in my size 9 GR 6s. There’s no way I could wear the pair I received on the court without pain or losing some amount of circulation as there was barely any space to give. I returned my pair the same day to exchange and try sizing up to a 9.5 and see if that fit is any better. I’m a big fan of the Gel Resolution line from my past experiences and want to give it a good review, but it does seem like the construction has been going backwards based on people’s reviews (which made me hesitant to buy the GR 7s). If you need confirmation that these are not true-to-size, this is the review to heed. And for the love of everything Asics, please stop cinching your customers’ feet! Seems like with each new version I see people complaining about the fit and the shoes getting tighter. Implement what people liked from your previous versions.

Great shoe, but runs very narrow!!
A.B. –
These shoes fit my narrow feet well, but they are a bit heavy and rub the outside of my ankles in a place that I do not think will improve with breaking in. They have great cushioning, but I will have to return due to the outer ankle area.

I’ve been wearing these at least five days a week for a couple of months on indoor and outdoor courts. These are my first pair of Asics (previously wore Nike Vapor X) and I am SO happy I made the change! I experienced a brief break-in period, but they are perfectly formed to my feet and I can play in them for many hours at a time without any foot pain. The quality is incomparable to my previous Nikes – by now, the soles would be worn out and I’d have holes in the toes, even when sizing up! Speaking of sizing, I went with my normal size 9, and they fit great.
Took one star off for those random orange straps. I had to cut them off, ugh. I was worried that I was removing function, but the shoes have worked just fine without them! If they are indeed needed, please make them a more complimentary color in the future – like black or dark blue.
Without the orange straps, I get a lot of compliments on the style. Please make more women’s shoes in black or dark colors – I would love to buy another pair, but just can’t deal with the neon colors and/or white soles!

The uppers are not flexible. stylish but not suitable for athletic purposes.
Mary –
Really like the look of the shoe. Not mesh nor leather? PVC? I wear M but ordered wide due to other reviews. Somewhat wide around lace up, but definitely needed W for bunion area.
Pleased with purchase.

I needed navy so i didn’t go with my usual gel that has a lot of mesh. These are very tight, not only in the ball of the foot but also around the ankle. I have to leave them almost unlaced and after a 1.5 hour game my feet are hot and cramping. I always size up in Asics and the 9.5 usually works. I have to wear these for my team uniform but do not recommend.

These shoes were very stiff with little give. The style is super cute but not comfortable at all. I would only recommend if you have a very narrow foot.
Tennis –
I did not heed all the reviews that said this shoe is narrow. After all, I have never needed a wide width in *any* shoe, and often have to lace my athletic shoes very tightly to have a snug fit.
I was wrong.
These shoes are very solid, good quality, and exceptionally narrow. I could definitely wear the wide width without issue, but would probably size down a half size because my regular size seems a little long even in medium width.
Najdana –
A bit tight when you first put them on but gets better when you start playing. Need to change into other shoes after tennis.

This is a great shoe with good overall foot support. Arch support is great too but shoe is a little heavier that my old pre-pandemic Gel-resolutions. Not a real fan of the blue soles but that was all available when I ordered so I am returning I also ordered the Speed Solution FF2 and Gel-Challenger 13 which I am keeping.

Wide width – not wide enough. I wear a 8.5W and like other reviewers have commented, these run snug. These sound like the stability and comfort I was looking for, but will not work. Returned shoes.

HOT but not in a good way! There does not appear to be a breathable surface on this shoe. The outside is a textured, hard rubber or plastic that looks neat but without ventilation is a dealbreaker for an athletic shoe.
RMKSL –
Great support but a little tight in the toe box area.
Rusty S –
The plastic support that wraps around ankle is too low which causes rubbing and thus blisters
Novice P –
I have large bunions on both feet and my metatarsal pads typically get very sore after 3 sets of tennis but not with this shoe! It is a game changer for me. I love the stability and pain free play that these shoes provide.

Asics is about all I can wear to play tennis. I am really starting to think that the darker the dye for the shoes, the stiffer the feel. I bought several pairs to replace my worn out shoes. The lighter colors are much more comfortable than the darker versions like this I bought. Honestly I wish they would go back to more of a fabric shoe that the plastic that covers the whole shoe.

Nikes gave me blisters and a bunion. I put these on and they don’t even need to be broken in. They were a dream and have even made me play better.
MariaD –
This is my third Asic tennis shoe and I am very pleased with it. My feet are held in place which is very important especially when moving laterally. The gel footbed molded to my feet and it has enough support. The shoe design was well thought out and it’s the best tennis shoes I’ve had.

I initially strayed away from this generation of Gel Resolutions due to its tight first wear. However, it becomes comfortable after the first session. These are the most durable tennis shoes I have found and I keep coming back to them after trying other multiple brands. I would not recommend this shoe if you have wide feet; it fits very narrow and is better for those with narrow feet.
