It is winter proof. No doubt. I wore it today while running and it was 10 degrees outside. Wore my normal running socks and didn’t have cold feet at all. Wet socks while running in the rain?? Not in these shoes. They’re worth the price.

Love them. Lace system works well and they are very comfy. If you are between sizes or like more space, size up.

These Kayanos are well made, waterproof and I love the quick lace system on them, but, there’s a serious problem in the left shoe with the pair I received. Something in the foot bed inside the heel of the shoe is causing an uneven surface. I thought maybe it was just how the shoe was made because of the guidance support and would settle in after a couple times of wearing the shoe. No such luck! It has caused me to have a case of plantar fasciitis in my left heel and it is very uncomfortable. I believe this is a manufacturer defect, and I will be contacting Asics about a warranty issue.

This shoe will keep your feet dry in bad weather, but it comes with a price: the shoe is heavier and stiffer than a typical Gel-Kayano. They made my feet heat up and hurt (almost felt like a case of recurring plantar fasciitis). I don’t recommend this shoe, unfortunately.

Tight fitting shoe requiring some break in. Not as comfortable as 27’s, however soles are harder with mor traction than 27’s which wore down quickly. Like me the shoe for wet weather and after wearing awhile.

I have been wearing ASICS GEL-Kayano for about ten years. This pair feels absolutely phenomenal. I would say this particular model has more cushioning all around (both sole and around your foot) compared to the traditional Kayano. I think the extra cushioning on the sole is due to the all-weather rubber on the bottom. It is hard to explain but they are incredibly soft with each step I take like a custom fit glove on my foot. I will also add they are water and mud proof.
